May Poem: interruption
Brought to you by volcanoes, Annie Lennox/Neil Young, and me
I wrote interruption in the March of 2022. It was called don’t let volcanoes bring you down (sparked by many listens of Annie Lennox’s version of don’t let it bring you down) until today, when I amended it to something more concise. The subject of the poem itself is, I think, the distillation of a lesson I learned about having your hopes and ideals hijacked, and overcoming this to walk in a straight line once more. I would really like to know how other people feel about this one, and what interpretations you take from it.
This is quality. I can't do poetry and I'm envious after reading.
